https://gamerant.com/final-fantasy-7-ever-crisis-young-sephiroth/Square Enix pulls back the curtain on a new appearance for Sephiroth exclusive to FF7: Ever Crisis that paints the One-Winged Angel in a new light.
Starting on September 29, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis players will be able to play as a younger, adolescent version of Sephiroth once the game is updated to version 1.1.0. The announcement came just weeks after the game's release on mobile platforms, and just days after Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis would be ported to PC in the future.
As one of the most iconic villains in video game history, the legacy of Sephiroth is intrinsically linked to the legacy of the Final Fantasy 7 anthology. As a legendary SOLDIER who snapped after discovering his origins, Sephiroth was made to be a powerhouse in combat from the very start. After Sephiroth's fall from grace in the Nibelheim incident, his presumed death was proven to be greatly exaggerated, as he and Jenova wreaked havoc throughout the story of Final Fantasy 7. However, players will soon get to see a new side of Sephiroth as part of a story set years before Nibelheim was torched.
Following maintenance for Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis version 1.1.0, players will be able to play as a young Sephiroth in the game. On social media, Square Enix provided some new character art for the teenage Sephiroth, who will join Glenn and his SOLDIER units on a mission through enemy territory in the story of Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier. Though his iconic silver hair is much shorter, and he wields a much shorter katana compared to the Masamune, the young Sephiroth will still have access to potent magic attacks and can cut foes down to size in combat.

At the time of writing, story chapters from the original Final Fantasy 7, The First Soldier, and Crisis Core are accessible, but those stories are incomplete and will be fully fleshed out over time. Players will eventually be able to access stories from other games in the anthology such as Before Crisis, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus. It remains to be seen how long Square Enix will take to bring these stories to Ever Crisis.

With Sephiroth's imminent arrival, only time will tell how many more downloads the game will get.
Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is available now for Android and iOS, with a PC version in development.
